Assistant Project Manager

Directly Reports to: Assigned Project Manager
Location: 2401 Back Acre Circle, Mt. Airy, MD 21771
Hours of Operation: Monday – Friday 8 AM – 5 PM

An Assistant Project Manager uses communication and project management skills to assist his/her Project Manager with project coordination. They identify client needs and organize them into an actionable plan while also identifying budget requirements.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Attend pre-con meetings to ensure successful hand off from estimating to field
  • Manage submittal processes
  • Negotiate and resolve all customer concerns
  • When necessary, estimate change orders for assigned projects
  • Manage all jobs closeout procedures
  • Conduct post project reviews to determine areas for future improvement
  • Provide coaching/counseling to foreman and assistant project manager
  • Develop/maintain network of professional relationships within our industry

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam and Outlook e-mail & calendar
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and in teams

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree preferred, or equivalent work experience
  • 3 or more years hands on Electrical Construction experience, preferred
  • Experience in the commercial electrical construction field preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
