Forestville Elementary School

This project was a complete renovation of the existing 74,000 SF building and the addition of another 10,000 SF. Enhancements to Forestville included new main and secondary entrances which accommodated the bus loop, student drop-off and the after school SACC programs. The teaching space additions were limited due to non-growing enrollment and were aimed at removing existing on-site trailers and supporting new educational programs. The updated the image of the existing building will promote the importance of learning within the community while renovations to the existing learning spaces including the updating all existing utilities, providing new finishes, and revising oddly configured triangular rooms will provide high performance flexible teaching spaces for future generations. Project costs included a significant process to abandon a failing septic field and tie into an existing off-site sanitary sewer system ensuring the longevity of the school.
